Well-Child Care Visits – At PPCG we provide a comprehensive approach to physical examinations to check to see if your infant or child’s growth and development is normal. We share information about normal development related to nutrition, sleep, safety, communicable disease and other important topics.
During a Well-Child Care visit you can expect the doctor or NP to record height, weight, head circumference and other information about important developmental milestones.
We can also measure BMI (body mass index) for identifying and preventing obesity.
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends a Well-Child Care visit schedule that can include physical measurements, patient history, sensory screenings, behavioral assessments, and planned procedures for immunizations, screenings and other tests at the following suggested intervals:
• 3 to 5 days
• 1 month
• 2 months
• 4 months
• 6 months
• 9 months
• 12 months
• 15 months
• 18 months
• 24 months
• 30 months
• 3 years
• 4 years
And once every year thereafter for an annual health supervision visit that includes a physical exam as well as a developmental, behavioral, and learning assessment.
